Carbon Fiber Carrier Cleaning
Carbon Fiber Carrier Cleaning

Non-aggressive chemical treatment that minimizes process chamber outgassing
As part of its extensive research and development effort, Williams Advanced Materials has taken carbon fiber carrier cleaning to the next level with CFC Clean™, creating a deposit removal process using a selective, non-aggressive chemical treatment.
Standard industry practice calls for total immersion of carbon fiber carriers into HF (hydrofluoric) acid to remove processing by-products. The CFC Clean™ process from Williams removes SiN deposits without damaging sensitive components. Since the CFC Clean™ process does not use HF solution, the chamber outgassing is substantially minimized (HF acid is a solution of HF gas in water). This can translate to faster times to bring up your process and may result in increased panel performance.
The CFC Clean™ method of non-aggressive chemical treatment ensures the integrity of the original substrate. Chemically-treated parts are intensively rinsed with ultra pure water and thoroughly dried with oil-free compressed dry air before shipment back to the customer's site. Moisture sensitive packaging protocols are followed, so parts are ready for immediate use. The recycling process is quick and cost-effective.
With our unique CFC Clean™ process, we can improve Crystalline Si solar cell efficiency and yield because process chamber outgassing is minimized. We also offer a complete and total outsource cleaning and integrated service package.
