Concentrated Solar Power
Concentrated photovoltaic, or CPV, technology uses lenses or reflectors to concentrate the sun’s light onto multijunction solar cells that convert it to DC electricity.
Materion’s precious metals products and services are used extensively in the fabrication of these solar cells, and our thermally conductive CPV submounts help keep them cool under the concentrated heat of several hundred suns.

Concentrator Solar Power Materials
Concentrator solar power, or CSP, uses reflectors to focus the sun’s thermal energy, and converts the heat to electricity using a steam turbine and an electrical power generator. Materion’s reflective and anti-reflective materials are used extensively in the mirrors of heliostat reflectors.
