C18000 - ThermoMet UNS C18000
Materion Brush Performance Alloys’ UNS C18000 (ThermoMet) is a low cost copper nickel silicon chromium alloy with high electrical and thermal conductivity possessing good strength and hardness. Typical applications include resistance welding equipment and injection mold and blow mold cores and cavities.
Advantages/Benefits of c18000
Due to the unique combination of thermal conductivity and strength available in this material, when used in plastic molds you gain advantages like:
- Shorter cycle time
- Improved plastic part dimensional control
- Better parting line maintenance
- Excellent corrosion resistance
In resistancte welding equipment it provides the electrical and thermal conductivity required to carry high current and the hardness necessary to avoid wear and mushrooming.
