AM162 H

Metal Matrix Composites - Beryllium Containing

AM162 H

AlBeMet®  AM162-H Aluminum Beryllium Metal Matrix Composite – Hot Isostatic Pressed

Produced through hot isostatic processing, Materion Brush Beryllium & Composites’ AlBeMet® AM 162 H offers numerous advantages over conventional aluminum alloys, including:

  • Density: 2.1g/cc
  • 28 Msi Modulus
  • Higher stiffness
  • Higher modulus
  • Superior thermal expansion and conductivity
  • Lower density
  • Lower weight

AM 162 H minimizes stress from vibration on leads, solder joints & substrates, increases fatigue life of electronic packages, reduced section thickness and adjusts for platform requirements. Plus, EB Weldable, TIG weldable, DIP and Vacuum brazing & machines like aluminum, can be coated like aluminum, AMS 7911.

AM 162 H is often produced as hot isostatically pressed block, and is useful for prototype production. AM 162 H is 62% commercially pure beryllium and 38% commercially pure aluminum.
