Complete parts control and traceability. At Materion Microelectronics and Services we take our ISO 9001: 2000 accreditation seriously. Conformance to this accreditation is verified by ongoing internal and external audits. We ensure that control and traceability cover the entire process from the receipt of shield kit precision parts at our facilities to the delivery of the clean parts to the customer.
Compressive procedures are followed throughout, providing a collection of statistical data. The Quality Team then uses this data for trend generation, continuous improvement analyses, and to proactively create new advancements in manufacturing processes and materials technology.
Three separate groups of quality checks are performed: Incoming Inspection, In-Process Inspection, and Final Inspection.
Written, agreed-upon customer specifications and work instructions for parts cleaning are retained on site, which governs all the processes to which the parts are exposed. Materion follows a strict process change notification policy to ensure that processes are only allowed with the customer’s prior agreement.
Materion Microelectronics and Services offers a web based tracking system with secure customer login features to help customers track valuable materials and PVD shield kit parts. For customers who utilize our precision parts clean facilities in the US, eSERVICES™ allows customers to track their metal returns. This system also tracks spent target reclamations. PVD shield kit parts are tracked via the web for customers who utilize our facilities in Ireland and the Czech Republic.
The PVD shield kit parts tracking system supports both component traceability and life cycle tracking. The component traceability assumes the presence of serial numbers on the individual parts and shield component sets.

The parts tracking system enables real-time parts cleaning status tracking while also integrating production and quality controls.
For high volume users, Materion Microelectronics and Services also offers a vendor-managed inventory service. This enables us to hold stock of all spare PVD shield component parts and offer a JIT replacement and delivery service. Better management of parts inventory reduces your cost associated with mismanaged and unnecessarily high stock levels.
