PerforMet™Alloy Compression Rings High Thermal Conductivity Improve Engine Performance

Piston DiagramMaterion’s PerforMet alloy, a new compression ring material, has high thermal conductivity to manage heat buildup in the piston better than conventional piston ring materials. Improved heat management means significantly reduced piston temperatures which, in turn, means reduced end-gas temperatures, improved knock resistance and enhanced engine efficiency.
