Allen Reid leads Materion’s human resources and global security organization, which drives the Company’s human capital strategy to ensure the company has the talent and organizational capability to achieve its global growth goals. In this role, he is responsible for talent acquisition and development, total rewards, performance management, organizational effectiveness, diversity and inclusion and the security of the Company’s people and assets.
Mr. Reid joined Materion in 2020 from Raytheon Company where he served as Vice President, Human Resources and Global Security Services for Raytheon’s Missile Systems business. Prior to Raytheon, he was a corporate and labor law attorney with the firm of Maupin Taylor in North Carolina. He also spent several years with the General Electric Company as a Finance and Business Development associate.
Mr. Reid holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia, a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Reid was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2000.
Mr. Reid is a Senior Certified Professional as designated by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). Additionally, Mr. Reid currently serves on the non-profit board of the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (“NIMS”) and on the Alumni Board of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, School of Labor and Employment Relations.
