Shannon Bennett leads Materion’s global communications strategy, responsible for engaging a wide variety of stakeholders in the Company’s transformation to support long-term growth. She joined Materion in 2021, overseeing internal and external company communications as well as brand, community relations and reputation management.
Most recently, she served as Vice President, Communications at Aleris Corporation, where she led public relations, public affairs, executive communications, brand development, culture transformation and employee communications. Previously, Ms. Bennett was Vice President, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Supervalu, Inc., formerly one of the largest companies in the U.S. grocery industry. Prior to that role, she held various communications and marketing positions for Albertsons. Earlier in her career, she worked for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission and New England Cable News.
She holds a Master of Science degree in public affairs from the University of Massachusetts-Boston and a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from St. Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont.
Ms. Bennett is a member of the board of trustees for the Urban Community School in Cleveland, Ohio.
