Materials used in challenging environments (such as those found in the oil and gas industry) must be able to provide reliable, sustained performance in rugged, complex and corrosive environments. Materion provides a range of alloys that meet corrosion-resistant requirements in onshore and offshore exploration, drilling, completion and production equipment.
Established in 1943 by 11 corrosion engineers from the pipeline industry as the "National Association of Corrosion Engineers," NACE International has become the global leader in developing corrosion prevention and control standards, certification and education.
To show how our alloys hold up under NACE standards, Det Norske Veritas (U.S.A.), Inc. (DNV GL) conducted testing of Alloy 25 and Alloy 3 copper-beryllium alloys to find out how they behave in selected environments. The testing encompassed sulfide stress cracking, stress corrosion cracking, and weight loss corrosion tests according to environments outlined in ANSI/NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-3 and ASTM G36-94.
The results showed minimal tendency for cracking in the tested alloys - download the white paper to get the details and learn more.
