Materion's Durox® family of alumina (Al2O3) technical ceramics provides a cost-effective solution for applications requiring high thermal and dimensional stability and low thermal expansion within very tight tolerances. The high-purity alumina ceramics are made in a range of shapes and purities to match your advanced ceramics needs. These materials are ideal for radio frequency (RF) transistors, power electronics and semiconductor manufacturing as they provide excellent thermal conductivity and superior protection from oxygen and water vapor.

DUROX ALUMINA TECHNICAL CERAMICS PROPERTIES AND PURITY
Durox alumina ceramics have excellent RF properties as well as hardness that is surpassed only by diamonds. And alumina is only a fraction of the cost. Manufacturers can rely on alumina ceramic material when used in parts and components subjected to high-temperature environments.
We offer two Durox products:
- Durox 98 ceramic: 97.6% pure Al2O3 and the most affordable alumina ceramic option for ceramic components.
- Durox AL ceramic: 99.8% pure and offers higher tensile strength, dielectric strength and thermal conductivity.
MATERION CERAMICS EXPERTS
We can produce Durox alumina ceramics in several standard and custom shapes. These highly engineered materials can be formed through dry-pressing, iso-pressing and extrusion. For small ceramic parts, dry-pressed Durox alumina can be formed into disks, heat sinks, plates, transistor outline (TO) packages, washers, and small resistor cores. For larger shapes, cold isostatic pressed Durox ceramics can be made into tubes, rods, blocks and ceramic crucibles.
