MOLDMAX® PROVIDES STRENGTH AND CONDUCTIVITY FOR BLOW MOLDING

The MoldMAX product line, MoldMAX HH®, MoldMAX LH®, MoldMAX V®, MoldMAX XL® and PROtherm®, provides strength and wear resistance similar to that of many tool steels, but with thermal conductivity that is up to ten times greater.

FASTER CYCLE TIME AND IMPROVED PART QUALITY

In blow molds, MoldMAX wears better, has improved conductivity and corrosion resistance than aluminum. In pinch-offs and neck rings, these alloys are more conductive than steel, which means faster cycle times, less maintenance and improved part quality.

EXCELLENT MACHINABILITY

All MoldMAX alloys have excellent machinability. In conventional machining operations, MoldMAX provides a reduction in machining time over tool steels. While the high thermal conductivity of MoldMAX makes it slower to electrical discharge machine than steel, set up can be optimized to minimize this difference.

UNIFORM MICROSTRUCTURE RESISTS CHIPPING AND PITTING

MoldMAX is hot worked to ensure a more uniform microstructure that resists chipping and pitting better than other molding alloys.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

The copper base in the MoldMAX family provides excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid, carbonic acid and similar decomposition products that can result from the plastic molding process. As a result, these materials are ideal for applications involving potentially corrosive plastics such as PVC.

WEAR AND GALLING RESISTANCE FOR EXTENDED MOLD LIFE
