WELDPAK®

WeldPak is a heat-treatable copper beryllium filler metal engineered specifically for TIG (GTAW) weld repair of our high performance copper alloys.

ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS

WeldPak is easily deposited and is age hardenable to match the hardness of the base metal. WeldPak deposits cleanly with minimal porosity.

USES AND APPLICATIONS

WeldPak copper beryllium is used as filler metal for TIG (GTAW) weld repair of copper beryllium, PROtherm and the MoldMAX family of alloys. It is commonly used to repair cracks or to build up worn surfaces. 

SPECIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS

  • Meets UNS C17200.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

  • Beryllium - 1.8-2.0%
  • Cobalt + Nickel - 0.20% minimum
  • Cobalt + Nickel + Iron - 0.60% maximum
  • Copper - balance

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Melting Range – 1600-1800° F (870 - 980°C)
Thermal Conductivity – 60 BTU/ft-hr-°F (105 W/m-°C) after age hardening

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES

As deposited, the weld bead will have the strength and hardness of annealed copper beryllium (HRB 45-85).  By age hardening the part for 3 hours at 600-625°F (300-315°C), the weld bead can be hardened to HRC 26 with little effect on the rest of the part. 

FORMS, SIZES AND TOLERANCES

WeldPak filler rod is available in short lengths in diameters of 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8” (1.59, 2.38, and 3.18 mm).
