TOUGHMET ALLOY OUTPERFORMS OTHER BUSHING & BEARING MATERIALS

Materion Performance Alloys’ ToughMet 3 CX copper-nickel-tin alloy outperforms steel, bronze and other bushing and bearing materials in extreme conditions. ToughMet carries more load, lasts longer, requires less maintenance and virtually eliminates unplanned equipment repairs.

LONG WEARING, ANTI-GALLING BUSHINGS & BEARINGS

ToughMet combines the galling resistance of manganese bronze with the abrasion resistance of steel. It provides low friction and minimal wear, even in cases where lubrication is not applied on schedule. Under severe conditions, including exposure to silica, coal dust, salt and other mineral particulate, ToughMet has been proven to extend equipment life and maintenance cycles.

FORMS AVAILABLE

ToughMet is available in plate, rod, tube, wire and a variety of cast shapes. Mechanical properties may vary by product size, form and temper. Please see our Data Sheets for specific values.  We can also supply rough or finish machined parts to meet customer supplied drawings. WRAPPED BEARINGS MADE OF TOUGHMET

Through Bowman International Ltd., we can now provide wrapped bearings made from strips of high-strength ToughMet alloy. This new BowMet® product line features standard size, thin-walled wrapped bearings with all the benefits ToughMet provides in machined bearings.
