Materion Beryllium & Composites offers a family of electronic-grade metal matrix composites (E-Materials) for designers who need high strength, good thermal conductivity and high modulus. Our E-Materials also have a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than beryllium.

E-Materials are powder-based products made by combining beryllium and beryllium oxide into a homogeneous mixture. The  materials are prepared by impact grinding and then hot isostatic pressing to form stock blocks that are cut to customer requirements.

HIGH ELASTIC MODULUS

With its outstanding stiffness-to-weight ratio and with thermal cycle reliability over a broad temperature range, the high elastic modulus of E-Materials helps absorb vibrations, lowering the material fatigue of attached modules and wire bonds.

THERMAL ADVANTAGE

E-Materials offer high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion. Their thermal expansion can be adjusted to match that of other materials, such as silicon, gallium arsenide, and various ceramics.
