S-200-F H grade beryllium is an optical and structural grade of hot isostatically pressed beryllium consisting of a minimum of 98.5% beryllium. This grade of beryllium is more uniform with higher density and higher mechanical properties than traditional vacuum hot pressed beryllium.

S-200-F H is produced by loading impact ground powder into sheet metal cans. This sheet metal can be formed into regular or custom shapes, and the production process has been optimized to conserve material and reduce the total machining time.

S-200-F H is commonly used for;

  • Nickel plated optics and structures for reconnaissance and targeting systems
  • Satellite systems
  • Semiconductor equipment
  • Nuclear applications that do not require the higher purity of S-65.

S-200-F H is commonly certified to the Materion specification S-200-F H. It can also be certified to the industry specification AMS7908 prepared by SAE Aerospace.

  • Minimum tensile properties for the material at room temperature (testing compliant to ASTM E-8)
  • Ultimate Tensile Strength, ksi, min 60.0 (414 MPa)
  • Yield Strength (0.2% offset), ksi, min 43.0 (297 MPa)
  • Elongation (% in 4 diameters), min 3.0

  • Available in rod or bar.
  • Special sizes and shapes can be made.
