Greg Chemnitz is Materion’s General Counsel and Secretary, with responsibility for the Company's legal affairs and compliance, litigation, contracts and negotiations, regulatory affairs, and global trade compliance. He also oversees corporate governance and leads the Company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) program. He joined Materion in 2007 and is an executive officer of the Company.
Prior to Materion, Mr. Chemnitz served as Assistant General Counsel, Americas for Avery Dennison Corporation’s Worldwide Materials Group. He joined Avery Dennison in 1992 as Divisional Counsel and served for three years as Senior Counsel, Europe, based in The Netherlands. His prior experience includes corporate law assignments with Benesch, Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP and Thompson Hine LLP. Early in his career, he also worked for the Progressive Corporation.
Mr. Chemnitz is a graduate of Georgetown University's Law Center and School of Foreign Service where he earned a Juris Doctorate and master's degree. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond. He also has a diploma from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy. He was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1984.
Mr. Chemnitz serves on the Board of the Cleveland Institute of Music and on the Advisory Committee to the Cleveland Orchestra.
