ALLOYS 3, 10, 10X AND 310 OFFER HIGH ELECTRICAL AND THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
Materion’s Alloy 3, Alloy 10, Alloy 10X and Alloy 310 copper beryllium (CuBe) materials are ideal for a range of industries, including the appliance, automotive, oil and gas, industrial and telecom and server markets. They offer high electrical and thermal conductivity with yield strength variation based on alloy chemistries.
These CuBe materials also adhere to specifications and standards set by ASTM International, SAE International, RWMA, European Standard EN and the Military Standard. Learn more about each material, including their unique specifications, in the sections below.
ALLOY 3 OFFERS HIGH ELECTRICAL AND THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
Alloy 3 (UNS C17510), a copper-nickel-beryllium alloy, provides good strength with high electrical and thermal conductivity, good resistance to stress relaxation and good elevated temperature strength.
Alloy 3 is engineered for excellent performance in the appliance, automotive, telecom and oil and gas industries. In automotive applications, Alloy 3 is commonly used for valve seats but because of its high conductivity, it is also a solution for pre-ignition chambers. In wire form, it works well for long-reach power and signal cables for offshore oil and gas operations. As a strip product, Alloy 3 is a reliable material for switches and relays due to its very high electrical conductivity. Alloy 3 plate is an excellent material for metal die casting, injection molding and blow molding.

ALLOY 10 COMBINES YIELD STRENGTH WITH CONDUCTIVITY
Alloy 10 (UNS C17500), a copper-cobalt-beryllium alloy, combines moderate yield strength, up to 140 ksi, with electrical and thermal conductivity that is 45 to 60 percent that of pure copper.
Like Alloy 3, Alloy 10 is also designed to perform in the appliance, automotive, telecom and oil and gas industries and is an excellent material for metal die casting, injection molding and blow molding.

ALLOY 10X FOR IMPROVED HIGH-TEMP STRENGTH AND DUCTILITY
Alloy 10X, a copper-cobalt-beryllium-zirconium alloy, was developed for improved high-temperature strength and ductility. Alloy 10X retains good strength and ductility at temperatures up to 800 °F/ 430 °C, and it has superior resistance to thermal cracking. It is the copper alloy of choice for sustained operation when high strength is required above 575°F/ 300°C.
Because of its outstanding thermal conductivity and superior resistance to thermal cracking, Alloy 10X material is ideal for high performance powertrain automotive applications such as exhaust valve seats and pre-ignition chamber applications.

ALLOY 310 OFFERS CONDUCTIVITY WITH STRENGTH AND HARDNESS
Alloy 310, a copper-beryllium-nickel-cobalt alloy, combines the properties of Alloy 3 and Alloy 10, offering high electrical and thermal conductivity along with good strength and hardness. Alloy 310 has higher than average thermal fatigue resistance.
The property combination of Alloy 310 makes it a good material for resistance welding electrodes, welding electrode components, non-ferrous metal casting, dies, nozzles and plungers.
