Face-to-Face Around Materion with Brian Mandiak
Meet Brian Mandiak, Regional Sales Manager for the Advanced Materials Group. Brian handles promotion and sales predominantly of thin layer coating materials and chemicals manufactured out of our Milwaukee facilities that support the Optics, Large Area Glass, Solar and Core Inorganic markets. His responsibilities include growing market share through consistent customer interaction. To enhance this, he focuses on understanding customer requirements and uncovering opportunities to excel in meeting their needs. He is part of the Sales Team that reports to Robert Dixon, Regional Director of Sales.
In order to broaden Materion’s presence, Brian travels throughout the Eastern US and Canada. Although he works independently a large part of the time, he credits much of his success to the team environment fostered by Materion. “My colleagues embody the principles of team work to achieve our common objectives. I truly could not accomplish my goals without the support they continue to provide.”
Brian joined the Materion family in 2012 and brings with him a heavy scientific background. He earned his BS in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology from SUNY at Buffalo. He has held positions that include work as a Sr. Clinical Laboratory Scientist in such areas as clinical chemistry, hematology, toxicology, blood gases and endocrinology. Expanding into other medical-related fields, he is a former pharmaceutical sales representative. He is affiliated with The Medical Laboratory Scientist Group as well as The Optics & Photonics Industry Network.
A lifelong member of the Western New York community, Brian currently resides in Hamburg, NY. He was married to his wife Robbin by a ship captain in St. Croix (US Virgin Islands) 18 years ago, and they still enjoy annual trips to the islands to celebrate and enjoy the local punch. Their daughter Erin will soon be a high school senior and the family is already pondering potential colleges. Brian is an ardent Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan and still clings to the hope of seeing a championship during his lifetime!
