OFFERING A VARIETY OF JOINING TECHNIQUES
Materion offers a variety of joining techniques for our customers. Our expert team of engineers can provide insight to help customers determine which joining service is most appropriate to meet their requirements. Our available joining techniques include:
- Bonding – we use multiple target bonding methods, including solder bonding, diffusion bonding and additional methods of high temperature to ensure good thermal transfer and vacuum integrity between target and backing plate.
- Brazing – we utilize dip brazing and fluxless vacuum furnace brazing to extend the practical utilization of beryllium in the fabrication of lightweight, exceptionally stiff components.
- Electron Beam Welding – allows metals to be welded together without a large heat- affected zone, resulting in less distortion compared to traditional welding techniques. The welding is done in a vacuum, which significantly reduces contamination and oxidation and results in a very clean and consistent weld.
