Home About Company Leadership MEET THE MATERION LEADERSHIP TEAM Jugal K. Vijayvargiya President and Chief Executive Officer Jugal K. Vijayvargiya joined Materion as President and CEO in March 2017. Prior to joining Materion, Mr. Vijayvargiya had an extensive 26-year international career with Delphi Automotive PLC, a leading global technology solutions provider to the automotive and transportation sectors. He most recently led Delphi Automotive’s Electronics & Safety segment, a $3 billion global business based in Germany. In this role, Mr. Vijayvargiya has served as an officer of Delphi and a member of its Executive Committee. Previously, he served in progressively responsible positions in Europe and North America in product and manufacturing engineering, sales, product line management, acquisition integration and general management. Mr. Vijayvargiya received both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University. Joseph P. Kelley Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer Joe leads the Company's accounting, tax, treasury and financial planning functions. As CFO, he also has responsibility for Materion's procurement and investor relations. Additionally, he is an executive officer of the Company. He is based at Materion’s corporate headquarters in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and reports directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer. Joe joined Materion in 2011 as Vice President, Finance for the Advanced Materials business segment. He was promoted to CFO in 2015 after serving more than two years as Vice President of Finance. Prior to Materion, he was Vice President of Planning and Investor Relations at PolyOne Corporation in Avon Lake, Ohio. Earlier, Joe held progressively responsible financial management positions in North America and Europe with Lincoln Electric, CNH Global NV, Lante Corporation and PwC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from John Carroll University in Cleveland. Gregory R. Chemnitz Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary Based at Materion’s Mayfield Heights, Ohio headquarters, Greg has leadership of the Company's legal affairs and compliance, litigation, contracts and negotiations, regulatory affairs, information and security, global trade compliance and corporate governance. He is an executive officer of the Company and reports to Materion’s president and chief executive officer. Greg joined Materion in 2007 from Avery Dennison Corporation’s Worldwide Materials Group in Concord, Ohio where he had been Assistant General Counsel, Americas. He joined Avery Dennison in 1992 as Divisional Counsel and also served for three years as Senior Counsel, Europe, based in The Netherlands. His prior experience includes corporate law assignments with Benesch, Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP and Thompson Hine LLP, and in insurance for the Progressive Corporation. Greg is a graduate of Georgetown University's Law Center and School of Foreign Service where he earned a Juris Doctorate and master's degree. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond. He also has a diploma from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy. Greg was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1984. Deborah A. Armstrong Chief Human Resources Officer In her role, Ms. Armstrong leads the human resources organization, which drives the Company’s global human capital strategy to ensure the company has the talent and organization capability to achieve its global growth goals. She is based at the Materion corporate headquarters in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and reports to Materion’s President and Chief Executive Officer. She joined the company in June 2011 from the Architecture & Software segment of Rockwell Automation where she served as Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to joining Rockwell in 2004, she worked in various human resource leadership positions for OMNOVA Solutions, Inc., Allied Signal and General Mills. She earned both a master’s degree in Higher Education & Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Education from Michigan State University. Dr. Ian Tribick Chief Technology Officer and Chief Marketing Officer Ian joined Materion in 2007 and has served in a number of technology, operations and general management leadership positions at the corporate level and within three Materion businesses. In addition to his current role, he is also acting as Interim President, Precision Coatings. He is based in Boston, Massachusetts and reports directly to Materion’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Ian had more than 20 years experience in research, technology innovation, engineering, operations, global business development and general management in advanced technology companies in North America and Europe. A native of the United Kingdom, Ian is a graduate of the University of Leeds, where he earned both his bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in materials science and engineering. Clive Grannum President, Performance Alloys and Composites As head of the Performance Alloys and Composites business segment, Clive is at the helm of a global leader in the production of specialty alloy products, clad inlay and overlay metals, beryllium-based metals, beryllium and aluminum metal matrix composites, beryllia ceramics, bulk and metallic glass materials and precious and base metal electroplated systems. Clive is based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and reports to Materion’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Grannum has nearly 30 years’ experience building high-performing organizations within global specialty chemicals industry leaders, including Olin Corporation, Dow Chemical, Rohm and Haas, The ICI Group and The BOC Group. Before joining Materion in 2018, Clive was President of Olin’s Global Chlorinated Organics business, the world’s largest chlorinated enterprise. Prior to Olin, he served as President, Global Chlorinated Organics at The Dow Chemical Company. He also held several roles of increasing responsibility at The BOC Group and The ICI Group with his last role being Vice President of ICI and Senior Vice President, Uniqema Americas. Clive earned a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Boston University and an MBA from Yale University. Donald G. Klimkowicz President, Advanced Materials Advanced Materials is an industry leader in the production of advanced chemicals, microelectronic packaging, precious and non-precious metals, and deposition reclamation and refining services. As the head of this dynamic segment, Don is responsible for a global manufacturing footprint with facilities in the United States, Europe and Asia. He is based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio and reports to Materion’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Don joined Materion in 2001 and has advanced to progressively responsible management positions. He had earlier led the Company’s Performance Alloys business, and served as Chief Operating Officer of Advanced Materials. Prior to joining Materion, he served in general management, operating and engineering positions with ei3 Corporation, Avery Dennison Corporation and Diamond Shamrock Corporation. Don has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Cleveland State University. Guido Beyss President, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) The EMEA Region is one of Materion’s key growth areas and has locations in Germany, The United Kingdom, and Ireland. The local production of microelectronic packaging, precious and non-precious metals, and deposition reclamation and refining services on one hand, and on the other hand covers production for the entire PAC business for the applications like automotive, consumable, and heavy industry. Guido is based in Alzenau, Germany and reports to Materion’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Materion in 2017, he held global senior leadership roles globally in the areas of engineering, operations and finance positions with Schaeffler, GEA Group and Gillette. Guido has a Bachelor's Degree in electronic engineering and an MBA from RWTH University of Aachen, Germany. Scott R. Haluska President, Asia Pacific Region Materion’s engineered materials and services play a critical role in supporting the growing, technology manufacturing base in this important region. He is based in Taoyuan, Taiwan and reports to Materion’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Scott joined Materion in 1989 and has advanced to progressively responsible management positions. Previous to his current position, he was the Vice President of Global Sales for the Advanced Materials business segment and based in the U.S. Scott has a bachelor's degree in economics from Utica College and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
