CONGRATULATIONS MATERION 2020 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
For over 60 years, Materion has been providing scholarship opportunities to employee children. In partnership with College Now Greater Cleveland, we are excited to announce the following 2020 Materion Scholarship winners:
Gabe Colmenares, son of Rafael Colmenares – Mayfield Heights, OH
A life-long interest in technology coupled with a natural knack for numbers has motivated Gabe to pursue a degree in data science and analytics. He will be headed to his first-choice school in the fall, Yale University.
Caroline Sayer, daughter of Aaron Sayer – Elmore, OH
Captain of her school soccer team, Caroline is an impressive scholar-athlete. With the goal of building a career that intermingles her love of teaching and her passion for fitness, Caroline will be attending Bowling Green State University to pursue a degree in exercise science.
Sydney Helwig, daughter of Todd Helwig – Milwaukee, WI
A robust high-school sports career and an innate desire to help people have motivated Sydney to major in kinesiology. Her long-term plans include continuing her education beyond a bachelor’s degree to eventually pursue a career in either physical therapy or athletic training.
Easton Jackson, son of Marci Jackson – Delta, UT
As president of his high school’s technology club, it’s no surprise that Easton wants to study computer science and cybersecurity. He will kick off his college career after completing a two-year mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Thank you to all the bright, talented, and hard-working students who submitted applications this year. We wish all the 2020 graduating seniors the best of luck in their future academic and career plans!
